CCL Traditional Gunstock Hand Polishing Kit
This polish has been used by th English gun trade for many years to produce a hand polished finish for the gun owner who prefers a real shine to the wood on his gun or rifle stock, without the heavy appearence produced by a spray finish.
The kit is supplied in three parts: The polish which is used both for filling the pores of the grain and for building a deep polished sheen on the surface. An oil which is used to lubricate the polishing cloth when the polish is being applied to the wood, in order to stop it picking up and spoiling the final finish, and a quantity of fine abrasive paper to flat the surface of the wood down between the initial few coats when filling the grain.
In skilled hands a beauitiful deep hand polish can be applied to any gun or rifle stock, both weather proofing and beautifying the wood, the amateur can quickly achieve the same fine results.

CCL Gunstock Conditioning Oil
This Preparation has been specially blended by Clive C. Lemon - Gun Maker to restore the sheen to existing oil finishes or to add an extra shine to the surface of the traditional hand rubbed oil finish. It can also be used to produce an entirely new oil finish of a natural colour.
One or two applications of this oil palmed into the stock during a shooting season, or before a gun is stored away for the close season, will keep the wood weather proofed and the original oil finish looking fine.
New stocks oil finished in the traditional was can be improved still further by an application of this product to give a beautiful surface sheen to the wood. This oil is specially recommended for use after oil finishing with CCL Traditional Gunstock Oil Finishing Kit.

This material is most helpful in speeding up the oil finishing of very open grained stocks. It allows the user to fill the open grain more rapidly than with the much slower drying oils and will not affect the fine results obtained using the oils in the normal way afterwards. If you already own one of the CCL Traditional Hand Polishing Kits the polish in this kit, bottle number 1, can be used instead of the grain sealer.
