The XRS Chassis is designed for shooters that want the fit and feel of a traditional shaped rifle stock with the benefits of a modern precision rifle chassis system. Each XRS Chassis is constructed from a full-length CNC machined core of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum wearing high strength textured polymer panels for insulation from the elements. The precision aluminum V-block bedding system ensures fit and function to maximize the accuracy of any rifle action. The XRS Chassis features a replaceable over molded and textured grip system, with both an angled grip and a vertical grip included in box.

Part of our testing involved getting these barrels are all honed on our Sunnen 1600w horizontal barrel hone. It is the ONLY barrel hone of its kind in the country. It can maintain barrel dimensions to within .0001 - .0002" from end to end, which makes these barrels EXTREMELY consistent .22LR barrels.

The Turkish walnut stock has an American-style comb for use with a scope and a wide, flat forend that rides a sandbag well. Laser-cut stippling gives grip fore and aft.

If we were to pick one thing that our previous rimfire platforms were lacking, it was an American-style push-to-fire safety — something Hunter’s Education instructors and 4-H shooting coaches have begged us to incorporate for years. Though that was the most obvious change, we also took the opportunity to tweak a load of small things at the same time. In addition to the receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety, we chopped almost an inch of length from the action and slab-sided it to reduce its footprint and weight.

Unlike many competitors, there are no plastic parts on the action, bar the magazine follower. This means peace of mind for the owner, knowing that the rifle will last, removing potential for failure at a crucial moment.  Receiver and bolt are steel.  Bolt has integral bolt handle, bolt faces are square to barrel chamber, and bolt faces have excellent contact with recess, ensuring accuracy.

Many shooters know that the trigger on any rifle is one of the inherent focal points for achieved accuracy and safety. The new Howa HACT two stage match triggers provide you the shooter with the instant ability to achieve better accuracy right out of the box.

The Pro Varmint was designed by Boyds to meet the requests of our customers who were looking for an affordable tactical design for their rimfire rifles. The beavertail forend allows for greater stabilization off bags, but is still trim enough for general purpose shooting. The dual purpose butt hook allows for greater control of the stock and firearm, with your non-trigger hand, and allows for a better grip on the rear bag when shooting from the bench. The Monte Carlo comb brings the shooter's cheek up for use with larger scopes and comes with an ambidextrous grip that allows either hand to assume a more natural position. The slight palm swell on either side provides for a more comfortable grip.

These barrels are all honed on our Sunnen 1600w horizontal barrel hone. It is the ONLY barrel hone of its kind in the country. It can maintain barrel dimensions to within .0001 - .0002" from end to end, which makes these barrels EXTREMELY consistent .22LR barrels.
These barrels ALSO get hand lapped on top of honing. There are zero tool marks on the inside of each barrel that you sometimes find in factory or other barrels which may or may not lead to degraded accuracy.
